Timber harvesting was restricted in the buff colored areas coded "not harvestable" which are:
- within 50 meters of streams
- within 100 meters of streams where salmon spawn,
- within 800 meters of Goshawk nests.
For the entire Tract F in Tongass National Forest in Alaska, The estimated value of all timber, if harvested without restriction, is $1.526 billion. The value of timber that can be harvested is $1.052 billion, or about two thirds the original estimate.
